Improving Child Find Services in Rural Communities Manual
- Section 2: Getting Started - This is one section of a 7 part
manual on developing a community collaboration team to address public
awareness and child find issues. Section 2 of the manual pertains to
choosing a target area for implementing child find activities by looking
at population data and risk factors for a community. Agencies need to
determine if there is a specific “target population” recognized
as having unique characteristics to be considered when designing child
find activities. It also addresses targeting individuals in the community
that have information or ideas of effective ways of “getting the
word out” in that community to be involved in the process.
