SEEK: Strategies for Effective and Efficient Keiki (Child) FindThe SEEK Project is designed to develop, demonstrate and evaluate a scientifically-based method for improving child find. The project staff recruited stakeholders who were primarily interested in child find activities devised to target professionals rather than parents or the general public. Project staff also conducted a quantitative and qualitative needs assessment to evaluate effectiveness of current activities, and identify gaps and barriers. Next, the staff developed improvement strategies and a rigorous evaluation design; implemented strategies in one community and evaluation in three communities; revised the strategies; and implemented the revised strategies in a second community. The second strategy is currently being evaluated. Products and technical support services: The SEEK Project products are designed to address knowledge, skills
and attitudes of professionals, particularly physicians, relevant to Early
Intervention (Part C), identification of babies with developmental delays,
and referral to Part C. Products include video, Powerpoint, and print
materials. Technical assistance includes providing support for staff in
other programs concerning implementing similar scientifically based improvement
process for Part C or Part B (IDEA) child find. Contact information: |
